THE UNIVERSITY OF NOTRE DAME

The opportunities for ministry at this campus are mainly through the International Student Organization. There are over 800 international students attending Notre Dame from 111 different countries. Families from the community are encouraged to volunteer to be a friendship family to an international student for one school year. Many international students are interested in the American culture (i.e. food, holidays, cultural events, religious events, and seeing historical or cultural sites).

This avenue is a way to interest these students in both the local church events and the Campus Bible Fellowship activities such as a Christmas party or a hayride. Some students are quite interested in studying the Bible. One student commented: "I know America is blessed because of the Bible. I want to know about the Bible so I can go back to my country (China) and tell my people how they can be blessed like you." Another student raised in an atheistic country asked: "What is my purpose in life? Is there a God? What is God like?" After arriving home from church one Sunday, we received a phone call from two students wanting to study the Bible.

These students are dear people who need the Lord as their Savior. We do not have enough people who will volunteer to minister the Gospel to these future leaders of the world.

We schedule a Bible study on Friday night at the Campus House, which is right across the street from Notre Dame. Even though we have received threats to have Steve arrested, God still brings students to the meetings.

There were six students from Notre Dame at an activity just a couple weeks ago. God still brings in students to this ministry. Pray to the Lord that He will continue to send contacts to CBF and also send laborers into His harvest.

INDIANA UNIVERSITY AT SOUTH BEND

IUSB allows Campus Bible Fellowship to be a recognized student organization. The Lord allowed us to meet on campus four times a week during the spring semester 2005. We were permitted to staff a literature table four days a week so we could share the Gospel and pass out literature inviting students to the on campus Bible studies.

Some of the ministry on this campus is done by one-on-one Bible studies. These are scheduled throughout the week at times when both students and staff are available. These are special times when some very serious issues arise. Pray for wisdom as we work with our college young people.

The Lord opened a door to minister to a Mike, the father of one of the IUSB students to whom we ministered for several years. Mike was diagnosed with cancer.

We met with him for Bible study for over a year. He recently died, and Steve had a wonderful opportunity to minister to his family and friends at his funeral.

CBF is a kind of mission experience in which you could witness to some one from a different country each day and not leave the United States. Pray for workers to reach the multitudes of young people who desperately need the Lord as their personal Savior.
